Highlights:
Malaysian athletes have won one silver and two bronze medals at the Olympic Games, all in badminton. In Barcelona, the first Games where medals were awarded for badminton events, brothers Jalani and Razif Sidek won bronze in the men's doubles, the nation's first Olympic medal. In Atlanta, Kim Hock Yap and Soon Kit Cheah won silver in the men's doubles and Rashid Sidek took bronze in the men's singles.
