Rooney - We're the best
Striker salutes glory; Vidic to miss Inter clash
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has hailed the club's Fifa Club World Cup glory.
The Red Devils defeated Ecuadorian side LDU Quito 1-0 at the Yokohama Stadium on Sunday.
Rooney netted the game's only goal in the second period and could not hide his delight at the success.
"We're the best team in the world," said Rooney, who was named player of the tournament after scoring twice in United's 5-3 semi-final win over Japan's Gamba Osaka.

"It's a great achievement for the team and something we're all really proud of. It's been a long road. To score the winning goal is a great feeling."
Suspension
The result was, however, marred by the sending off of Nemanja Vidic for elbowing an opponent, with the centre-back now set to miss the first leg of United's UEFA Champions League last-16 clash at Inter Milan in February.
"The sending off made it difficult for us," said manager Sir Alex Ferguson. "Half an hour to go is a long road with 10 men but Wayne scored a magnificent goal.
"He [Vidic] swung an elbow right in front of the referee and if you do that you have no chance. The referee was absolutely correct.
"We have been informed if there is a suspension it will be European Cup.
"It was a soft sending off. But it depends how Fifa interpret it and how Uefa
act in terms of the information they get.
"I'm disappointed because we were in a comfortable position at the time. Vidic is disappointed in himself."
He added: "In 30 years you'll look back and see Manchester United's name on the trophy - although I won't be around to enjoy it."
